Confirmation

The Zion Lutheran Confirmation Program is open to anyone who wants to learn about the Bible, the Catechism and what it is to be Lutheran.

Confirmation is a two year program at Zion. When you join you will begin as a “first year confirmand.” After completing the requirements for the “first year” you will then progress to “second year confirmand.” After completing the requirements for the “second year” you will be confirmed on Reformation Sunday. (Last Sunday in October.)

Baptismal Basis

The education and nurture of a Christian person begins with the words,

“I baptize you in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.”

The Confirmation Program is offered as a fulfillment of a promise that was made at baptism by the church leaders, your parents and the congregation. Confirmation is the preparation for you to agree with your faith and to then, after confirmation, go on to be a full member of the church. To see yourself and have others see you as a member of the body of Christ living in a world where faith and action affect all of God’s creation.
